On July 23, 2016, gamers of all ages gathered at White River State Park in order to “catch ’em all!” The event, created initially on Facebook, was successfully organized by Jake Waddell and received support from Pop Con. The event itself, with all its proceeds, will go towards supporting a local charity.
According to Waddell, the event couldn’t have gone better.“The community was fantastic, we had no rain, the servers had no issues and we had a huge turnout,” Wadell said. “We raised money for charity. It was incredible.”
Waddell added that while it was still being totaled, the amount raised was between $3,000 and $4,000.
Vendors were also present during the event.
“Sprint, PopCon, Extra Life Charity, Dominos, Eagles Nest Promotions, Freedom K9 Project, Radio Shack, Mophie; those were your big names,” Waddell said.
Waddell closed with saying the next meet up is currently being planned.
